Ketida is built by the same folks that built Pagedjs - Coko. Get the best pagedmedia pagination engine you can find anywhere built natively into the best book production platform anywhere.
Ketida has an extensive microservices architecture approach to ensure scalability, it includes an XSweet service to upload docx files, an EPUBchecker service to validate epubs, PagedJS service to typeset PDFs, and an ICML service to export to an Adobe-compatible format.
Ketida is built by the Coko development team. Increasingly Coko is also facilitating organisations to extend Ketida to meet their needs as well as extending Ketida on a for hire basis. The Coko end-user community of Publishers, Copy Ketida, Production Editors, Book Designers, Indexers, Authors (etc) as well as Artists, and folks from Print on Demand and Publishing Services organisations etc have all been the drivers behind the design of Ketida since the beginning.
Ketida enables advanced collaboration through tracked changes and customizable permissions. Similar to other word processors, changes are color-coded and underlined. Different user roles can make, accept, and reject changes throughout different workflow phases. Additionally, suggestions can be hidden to preview a final document with all changes accepted.
Ketida offers a range of customization options for workflows, including the ability to configure team roles and permissions, enable any of the set of features, and even design entirely unique user interfaces for specific needs. This allows for highly tailored and efficient publishing workflows that fit the needs of individual teams and organizations.
Typeset and download your book as a PDF at the click of a button. The Coko team are hard at work to improve print on demand support further by integrating with popular print on demand suppliers, providing a seamless experience all the way from the book planning stage to ordering copies of your books.
Ketida’s Open Textbook Planner offers a step-by-step guide to developing a consistent book structure and use of features before you start the authoring process. The Planner provides tools to determine the hierarchy of the book, build an outline, and add pedagogical elements. Ketida’s Editor allows users to add more pedagogical elements at the authoring stage, and apply styles and blocks for semantic markup.
Ketida offers automated typesetting and export to ePub and PDF. If you wish to design your PDF elsewhere, you can export to ICML which allows for importing into design software, such as Adobe Indesign.
Ketida adheres to industry standards to store, manage and export your content, and maintain compatibility with other systems.
